Canada’s Moment to Lead: A Call to Action for Health Research and Innovation

On 11 June 2026, Research Canada convened its fourth Stakeholder Action Roundtable, bringing together 200 leaders across Canada’s health research and innovation ecosystem—scientists, clinical researchers, healthcare administrators, biotech entrepreneurs, pharmaceutical and medtech executives, investors, policymakers and patient partners—to discuss what it will take to turn one of the world’s most inventive countries into a global innovative powerhouse.

Now, Research Canada is releasing its Event Report, which captures the Roundtable’s collective Call to Action, highlighting where we need to focus as a country if we are to translate our research excellence into economic prosperity, a sustainable and sovereign health system and, most importantly, a healthy population.

The world is changing. Now is Canada’s opportunity to be ambitious and to lead.
